Mental Benefits of Reiki...

We get a break from the incessant chatter of our mind.
Reiki helps us slow down, and when we do our thought waves slow down as well. In an age where people get frustrated if a website takes longer than one second to load. Reiki forces us to put our extended concentration on one thing and one thing only: our present experience.
Even if we drift off during a session, chances are we are busy healing some memory deep in the recesses of our mind and are jest getting the conscious part of our brain (the one in charge of any resistance) our of the way so the healing can take place.
We often feel exhausted after running around all day, even if that race has only been on a hamster wheel in our mind. The demands of a job, family obligations and modern-day living require us to constantly give our attention (aka our energy, aka our power) away to external forces. When that energy leaves our body, it also leaves our aura -the electromagnetic field surrounding us that protects and shields us. No wonder we can feel so drained!
